REVIEW: Garcia Peoples – 10.10.19 Nublu, NYC live album

With their recent 5 star 2 track album One Step Behind firmly tucked under their belts Garcia Peoples haven’t relaxed on their laurels, rather they are firing on all cylinders with another 2 track album this time an equally stunning live album propels the band into further realms of surprises and delights with rainbow coloured chords plus a dazzled splattering of long jams, fans of their recent album won’t be able to get enough with this release.

On Step Behind Is first up with saxophonist Bob Malach stepping on the floorboards with the band for the first time, the results are a unique twisting of the original 30 minute track that takes on a life form all of its own with added twiddling’s of guitar, plus the addition of soothing keyboards the added 10 plus minutes of music make this a jam loving musical fan dreams come true. There are some supersonic boundaries that are explored here the likes of Buzz Aldrin would have been proud to have these efforts beaming in his ear as he launched into the stratosphere.

The band float on a hypnotic sound, telepathically knowing each other’s next move. Their vocal harmonies are another treat as they cosmically delve into Show Your Troubles Out. There is more spell bounding guitar interplay as lightning bolts of electricity infuse all on stage to engage in some sort of energetic spiritual exercise of musical fascination. In summary this is another impressive release by Garcia Peoples, the wait for more new music from these commanders of psych is on.
