Scoop music Festival is a three-day music festival is set to take place in County Durham this month, offering up a family-friendly line-up, street food and a range of camping options.
Sited near the picturesque village of Lanchester, the celebrated Scoop Music Festival will bring together some of the North East’s best pop, rock and tribute bands for a full weekend of live music for the entire family starting from the 27th of August, THIS YEAR!
Founded by Tristain Raine in 2018, Scoop Music Festival aims to showcase the region’s exceptional local bands and provide a platform for emerging musicians after an incredibly difficult year for live music.
The event is produced by the Durham based promotion company, Events85 in partnership with VEGVISIR International.
Founder of VEGVISIR, Jai Wal said: “Scoop Music Festival is providing a much-needed platform for local artists that have missed out on opportunities to showcase their talents and do what they do best – entertain.
“Scoop promises to be an opportunity to get away and be entertained for the weekend at an affordable price.
“The festival is being developed to help grow and strengthen the offering year on year and to ensure North East talent have the platform they deserve.
Scoop Founder Tristan Raine, continues: “Although Scoop was only founded in 2018, my passion for music runs deep goes back two decades, especially at the grass roots end of the industry.
“There are bands in this line-up that have performed for me across the decades and I’m proud to have watched them grow and prosper.
“We’re a family festival and we can’t wait for adults and children alike to enjoy some special moments in an incredible atmosphere after a really tough time for all.”
Bands that are set to perform at the festival include the celebrated R.E.M. tribute band, Stipe; Teesside’s favourite ska and 2-tone band, The Skapones; supercharged North East alt-rockers, Fires of Freya; and indie pop-rock outfit, Fire Lady Luck.
In a band statement, Fires of Freya, added: “We’ve played Scoop Music festival before and loved it. The weekend is full of variety and supports musicians from the area.
“Over a year and a half of almost no live music was quite literally a nightmare for us. Live music is back and we’ve never been more ready to make our mark on the music industry and enjoy every moment of what we do best!”
The festival will host a wide range of local street food vendors and a fully stocked bar. With both general camping and glamping options available, the festival organisers promise that the event will offer ticket-holders a true festival experience.
Organisers have said they’re striving to make this music festival as Covid safe as possible.
They are encouraging guests to wear face masks in congested areas, and to make good use of the hand sanitiser provided.
They have also urged the public not to attend this festival if they have any Covid symptoms or they have been told to isolate via the NHS Track and Trace system.
Adult tickets are priced at £40 for the weekend plus an additional £10 for camping.
