RELEASED AUGUST 19TH 2022 ACROSS ALL DIGITAL STOCKISTS

The Redroom are the latest musical powerhouse to emerge from the North East of England and have today confirmed the release of their latest creation, ‘Time’ – set for release August 19th 2022 across all good digital stockists.

Fusing elements of alt-indie, blues, jazz and psychedelic rock, Time is delivered with meaning, soul, passion and melody from the vocal powerhouse that is Jess Lewis.

The track illustrates the illusion of time itself, stopping when you fall in love, followed by the overwhelming feeling of frustration when that love felt is unrequited.

Lyricist and lead singer Jess Lewis-Ward encapsulates the feeling of limbo and uncertainty.

She said: ‘I just wish I could turn back the clocks…. When will you find peace for me, between the seconds’ alluding to the inconsistency of feelings over time and the unsettling idea that once a moment has past there is no getting it back.”

Bending genres, The Redroom take their musical cues from the likes of Joy Crookes, Mac DeMarco and Lily Allen, set to the backdrop of their dreamy chord progressions and insightful socially driven lyrics.

Lewis-Ward’s care-free song writing style highlights the female experience and touches on current issues faced by the younger generation of today.

Formed in late 2019, the band consists of the 19-year-old Jessica Lewis-Ward on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Jake Elliot lead guitar, Dominic Aldridge bass guitar, Matthew Dodds on keys and Charlie McDonald behind the kit.

Since their first release ‘Nostalgia’ in October of 2020 they have accumulated over 85,00 streams and their tunes soon came to the attention of the likes of This Feeling, BBC Introducing and Tyneside’s much-loved music storyteller, NARC Magazine.

In 2021 they performed to a sell-out crowd at Hardwick Festival – alongside Nile Rodgers and CHIC – and this year they are set to open the mainstage for Stereophonics at Hardwick as well as playing the mainstage at Lindisfarne Festival with music giants Madness.

In late 2021 and early 2022 they sold out 2 headline shows; front woman, Jessica Lewis-Ward, ran an event called ‘Love Music, Hate Racism’ in July of 2022- an event showcasing a diverse range of talent whilst also raising money for ‘Stand up To Racism.’

With four singles released and plenty more to come, 2022 is shaping up to be a stellar year for one of the North East’s brightest emerging talents.
