Spangled Keep On The Grassroots With Jack Daniel’s & Music Venue Trust!

Having sold-out their biggest headline show to date at Manchester’s O2 Ritz and stormed the Kendal Calling festival already this year, rising indie-punks Spangled go back to their roots with the upcoming Little Town, Big Town tour. The five-date run hits beloved independent venues across the land, and is presented by Music Venue Trust and Jack Daniel’s and is also supported by new music champions This Feeling.

Spangled frontman Ben Johnson says, “Our tour will be like ‘The Odyssey’ – just a bit shorter and with slightly less muscle. Join us four regular lads at an amazing grassroots venue near you (hopefully) along with some class local supports. Moshing advised but not essential. See you down the front!”

The tour is supported by This Feeling the indie rock ‘n’ roll tastemakers who have supported countless rising bands on their way up, including major chart breakthroughs for the likes of The K’s, The Royston Club and The Clause.

It is also backed by Music Venue Trust, a UK registered charity which acts to protect, secure and improve UK grassroots music venues that are vital spaces for developing artists, enriching communities and sustaining the UK’s cultural landscape. The charity’s recent initiatives have included Everywhere At Once, the UK’s biggest festival which featured over 2000 artists at hundreds of grassroots venues; establishing community ownership of multiple venues through Music Venue Properties; and extensive policy work to support the long-term future of the grassroots sector.

Emerging from Manchester’s DIY scene, Spangled are the ideal band for such a tour. Whether with old favourites like ‘Little Tom’ or ‘That Farm In Durham’ to more recent tracks like ‘Whirlwind’ and ‘B-Line To Bruges’, their riotous, high-energy attack blurring the boundaries between visceral punk rock intensity and irresistible indie addictiveness.
