Manchester indie livewires Spamgled headline the city’s iconic Ritz Saturday Feb 28th, the same night The Brits come to town and Spangled say ‘Ritz Not Brits!’
“It’s a big night for Manchester with the BRITs landing at Co‑op Live for the first time and Noel getting a well‑deserved nod . He’s a massive inspiration to us — not because we’re trying to nick that Oasis’ sound but because that Manc attitude he carried made every band think they could have a go. We’re still completely independent, no major label behind us, and we haven’t even got an album out — yet somehow we’re on the cusp of selling out the Ritz off our own backs. While the BRITs deal with expensive tables, speeches and spotlights we’ll be doing what us and our promoters This Feeling (the promoter Noel calls ‘the best club in the UK for future rock ’n’ roll stars’) has always championed — proper live music in a room full of real people who actually turned up for it. If Noel fancies a real Rock n Roll celebration after the ceremony and more guitars, the door’s wide open!” say the Spangled boys.
With a brilliant all Mancunian support bill ft The Cavs, Montello and Venkappa this is going to be a show that will go down in Manchester Music History.
