TAYNE share new single ‘Coherent’

An abrasive, heavy offering exploring the shadows of doubt left by a toxic relationship, London-based noise rockers TAYNE have shared their latest single ‘Coherent’. Full of chaotic electronics, pulverizing beats and yearning vocals, the release marks the first piece of official new music for the band since 2019, and the first taste of what’s to come from them throughout this year.

After sharing their debut album BREATHE in 2018, TAYNE have been busy working on and recording new material with producer Wayne Adams (PETBRICK / BIG LAD). The band juxtapose introspective lyrics with their visceral riffs and intense electronics to create industrial-tinged sounds, and new single ‘Coherent’ is a cacophony of each of these different elements. Full of crashing percussion and disorientating synth textures, it’s a cathartic rush of anthemic noise.

“‘Coherent’ came together super quick in the recording sessions and was the first track we finished,” explains TAYNE’s founding member Matthew Sutton. “It’s about toxic relationships, intimacy and our willingness to continue doing something we already know is wrong.” Featuring a synth sample from the band’s previous single ‘Open Up’, TAYNE’s new track is a caustic take on overcoming uncomfortable emotions and facing up to the past.
