Track: Cabbage – ‘Preach To The Converted’

Mention the words ‘Cabbage’ and ‘album’ and ears prick up. Reactions are gauged and opinions voiced by any music fan with an ear close to the vast ground paced by the Mossley punk-rock quintet. It seems all too surprising Cabbage haven’t released their debut album yet. Having been around for over two years now, the band have released 36 songs and played more than 200 gigs. The five EPs they’ve produced across their rein have introduced us to Cabbage and their frantically political yet formative method of music. But now, we have an album.

Ahead of this as a prelude is ‘Preach To The Converted’. It’s a brash anthem with pacing drumbeats that quake with the thrashing of guitars and clamour of voices from frontmen Lee Broadbent and Joe Martin. As the opening track from the debut album, this track comes ahead of it’s maiden voyage and is available to stream and as an instant warm up track to welcome all purchasers who pre-order their debut.

Having only recently finished the first leg of their 2018 UK tour, including a sold-out show at London’s 100 Club, the band are set out again very soon, in typical Cabbage manner with further back-to-back dates across the country.
