New Track: Meat Wave – ‘Symmy’

Having released their new album, Delusion Moon, Meat Wave have shared a new track, which comes in the form of ‘Symmy’.

The track, which is a b-side to new single ‘Cosmic Zoo’, begins in frantic fashion with a bass-line that burrows deep inside your brain. This is followed by energetic outbursts of chords, moving back and forth in relentless style.

Meat Wave have found a combination of sounds that work incredibly well within ‘Symmy’; they fuse together the fast-paced antics pioneered by the likes of the Ramones, with a touch of modernism similar to the likes of Billy Talent and others.

Amongst all this, there’s a chorus that is inescapable, filled with catchy vocals from frontman Chris Sutter, to make every aspect of this track pretty good indeed.

The chaotic energy all makes sense once it becomes apparent what ‘Symmy’ is actually referring to. Chris Sutter, vocalist of the band, says the song is addressing the ‘Phoenix Lights’ of the 90s – when a large amount of people allegedly saw a UFO above the city, which the governor then played off…

You can catch Meat Wave on the remainder of their tour of the U.K on these dates:

November 27 (tonight!) – Gulliver’s, Manchester
November 28 – JT Soar, Nottingham
