Track of the Week ★★★★★ Liam Fender – Here We Are – OUT FRIDAY 28TH NOVEMBER

Liam Fender – Here We Are
Out Friday 28th November 2025

If you’re going to close a chapter, close it like Liam Fender does.

Here We Are –  out Friday 28th November – isn’t just the final single in a three-year creative arc, it’s the emotional full stop to a journey that’s taken Liam from backroom bars in the North East to film premieres, festival stages and sold-out shows. It’s a farewell – but not a goodbye. A wave, not a curtain drop. And it’s a song that lands with both weight and warmth.

The track follows the Love Will and Man Down EPs, wrapping up a trilogy of work that’s been consistently honest, unpretentious and emotionally rich. Where Love Will was tender and Man Down was bruised and defiant, Here We Are feels like acceptance – cinematic in scope, reflective in tone, and wrapped in that unmistakably Northern sense of grounded defiance.

From the first few bars, there’s a sense of clarity. Guitars shimmer and swell, a rolling rhythm gives it breath, and Liam’s voice – always more storyteller than showman – delivers lines with the weight of someone who’s lived them. It’s a track about home, about identity, and about the quiet courage it takes to step away. “It’s about finding light in the moments before you disappear into the sun,” he says –  and that’s exactly what it feels like.

The timing couldn’t be more fitting. The single follows the success of Liam’s documentary 800 Years – Here We Are, part of the North Shields 800 celebrations, where he served as the thread connecting his town’s music, people, and history. That same thread runs through this song –  a love letter to the place that shaped him, and a thank-you to everyone who’s been along for the ride.

This isn’t the sound of someone chasing trends or hype. It’s someone knowing exactly who they are, where they’ve come from, and what matters. Here We Are doesn’t scream for attention –  it earns it, slowly, with every line.

To mark the moment, Liam is releasing a limited edition CD collection featuring all three records –  a proper keepsake for fans who’ve been there since the start. And then there’s the small matter of his two Christmas shows in North Shields, which promise to be emotional, celebratory and unforgettable.

As farewells go, this one’s full of love, humility, and craft. And like all great farewells, it leaves you hoping it’s only temporary.

Fender doesn’t just sign off – he soars. Cheers mate! Until next time!

5/5. Track of the Week. A beautiful ending –  and a quiet promise of more to come.
