TRACK REVIEW: Secateurs ‘TEMP’

Earlier this year, Secateurs –  an innovative indie-rock three-piece from North Wales – were featured as the prestigious Unsigned Act Of The Week on Gigslutz, with their debut single, ‘She Lost Her Mind’ being credited as “creepy, murky, but most of all prolifically electrifying”.  Now, as we enter the final quarter of 2014, Deeside’s finest trio have returned to the forefront; with the breath-taking ‘TEMP’.

Featuring a five minute eleven second marriage of ominous bass lines and overlapping, wicked guitar riffs, ‘TEMP’, used to showcase the newly-matured style and sound of Secateurs, deserves nothing less than world-wide recognition, due to its beguiling hooks and almighty professionalism.

Sporting a subtle hat-tip towards Kasabian’s Empire era and featuring a tenebrous vocal; the new single from the pioneering Secateurs takes the listener on a voyage of euphoric discovery, unveiling the heart and soul of the Welsh trio while the song reaches its colossal crescendo of controlled madness.

The wave of pleasure released from ‘TEMP’ is impossible to describe, and the progression of maturity is ultimately mesmerising to behold. Leaving no stone un-turned and dashing all doubts of whether this band has the potential to make it: Secateurs’ ‘TEMP’ is the track poised to alter music as we know it.
