TRACK: The Wools – ‘I’m Your Fool’

Hailing from Liverpool, indie surf newcomers The Wools have released their second single ‘I’m Your Fool’, and it’s a great tune.

I’m quite annoyed that I’ve only just come across this band, as this new single could’ve soundtracked my whole summer. It’s got heartfelt lyrics that you can easily relate too and chorus filled guitar hooks that you can imagine hearing while sipping a cold one in the sun.

They say their main influence is Mac DeMarco, and although I do hear that, the track has the same dream pop elements as The Last Shadow Puppets. They boast a bass line that could melt your heart like a small puppy’s eyes and a guitar solo in the bridge gentle enough to wet your appetite to start singing the chorus melody in your head.

These guys are far from being a big band now but with their sound, attitude and tunes like this, but I can imagine them hitting the big stages and festival slots at the back end of next year.

You can stream their new single ‘I’m Your Fool’ on Spotify and Apple music now. I strongly suggest you do just that.
