Tracks Of The Week, 01.05.15

Creating unique, Avant Garde pop, Kassia Zermon – aka Bunty – is here to greet us with her ‘Precious Sound’.

With all the soulfulness of the likes of Lauryn Hill, combined with with the experimental power of Bjork, Bunty’s distinctive vocals ooze with grace alongside chiming beats and luscious layers of an eclectic range of sounds, making ‘Precious Sound’ a truly colourful creation.

The sound of this innovative young woman really is difficult to do justice to in words, you just have to hear it for yourself!

‘Precious Sound’ is out 25 May and, if you want to hear more, Multimos – the latest album from Bunty – is out now.

Hailing from Olympia, Vexx blast out their raw, driving punk with unmatched vigour.

Taken from their latest EP, new track ‘Black/White’ is an impassioned anthem filled with thrashing beats, climactic riffs and an intense racing pulse. As the rasping, soulful vocals of Maryjane Dunphe fill your eardrums with a fierce power not dissimilar to classic rock icons such as Joan Jett, it really is impossible to let Vexx pass you by without wanting to hear more.

The new EP, Give And Take, is out now on Katorga Works.

With almost two years since their last release, Colornoise are back to grace our ears with a brand new song. With recently added new member, Mari (great name) Navarro, the band have now developed their sound to great effect.

‘Amalie’ is filled with throbbing beats and sultry, soulful vocals. As the track starts off with a slow, steady pulse, it gradually builds to a climax of intense harmonies and striking hooks.

With layers of complex musical textures and a whole lot of passion, ‘Amalie’ is an exciting insight into just what Colornoise have in store for us next.

Colornoise’s next EP is due for release at the end of the year. Keep your ears peeled.

Delivering entirely self-produced creations, unlikely pairing Marty Felton and Benjamin Wade met at university and have since labelled themselves Lights Out Lester.

The pair’s latest offering, ‘Smokescreen’, amalgamates reverb-filled riffs with electro-infused musical textures and enchanting harmonies. With shades of the likes of Django Django or Hot Chip, this perfect fusion of such a vast range of influences results in an intriguing and magical soundscape.

Do You Feel Electric?’, the debut EP from Lights Out Lester, is set for release this Autumn.
