Unsigned Act Of The Week: Rosie Bans

With the release of her latest EP, ‘Be Bold’,  Rosie Bans is proving herself to be one of the most passionate, and unique, singer-songwriters around. Although reminiscent of the likes of Tori Amos or Regina Spektor, Bans’ epic piano playing and spellbinding vocals really are one of a kind.

Whether it’s  the angst-driven power, driving riffs and stabbing chords of opening track ‘Arguments’ or the twinkling, jazzy melodies of ‘Make Believe’, ‘Be Bold’ showcases the admirable versatility of Bans. Whether she’s blasting groovy beats, or exuding beautifully emotive melodies, Bans succeeds in fusing together varying musical styles and confidently experimenting with her own vocal range, with an end result that is simply breathtaking.

As Rosie urges us to ‘Be Bold’, she indeed proves that she can be just that. Standing apart from the current trend of shultzy, Sheeran-esque songwriters that so often seem to dominate the industry, Bans’ honest, sonically complex and inspiring creations will hit you like the first rays of sunshine blasting through the blinds at dawn.

I urge you too to ‘Be Bold’ and let yourself be be blown away by this brutally brave and delightfully diverse collection of songs.
