Julien Baker unveils second album ‘Turn Out The Lights’

At only twenty-one, singer/songwriter Julien Baker has detailed her second album, Turn Out The Lights.

The new record, set to be released via Matador on October 27, follows the pioneering path carved by 2015’s Sprained Ankle.  The forthcoming LP has a tracklist of eleven songs, including ‘Sour Breath’, ‘Claws In Your Back’, ‘Everything That Helps You Sleep’ and ‘Appointments’.

The latter is the first offering Baker has allowed us to hear from Turn Out The Light. According to the songstress, “A lot of stuff happened in my life that was rapid change, and it felt like it could not get any worse”, which aided the themes and general feeling surrounding ‘Appointments’. Recorded at Memphis Tennessee’s Ardent Studios, Turn Out The Lights was mixed by Craig Silvey (The National) and produced by Baker herself.
