VANT announce indefinite hiatus alongside final mini-LP

Following in the wake of Wild Beasts and The Maccabees, VANT has announced they will be going on an indefinite hiatus.  Our favourite bands are dropping like flies.

Revealed in a statement posted via social media, Mattie, Henry, Billy & Greenie from VANT have expressed sincere “thanks for the support over the last couple of years” saying it “truly has meant everything to us.  We’ve had the best time of our lives, so far.”

In the statement, the band reveal that they will be ‘ending this part of the journey how they began, in small venues before they explore other musical worlds for a little bit’.

“We came from those places (Seaham, Poulton-le-Fylde, Sandy Lane, Bensham) and when a band played anywhere near us, whoever they may have been, we were grateful and elated.’

“They were the bands that made us want to make music in the first place.  They showed us it was possible.”

The final UK tour from VANT is entitled The Last Days Of Punk and will see the band gracing venues such as Perranporth’s The Watering Hole (20 October) Stockton’s Georgian Theatre (November 4) Barrow’s Library (9), Glasgow’s O2 ABC2 (17) and concluding at Edinburgh’s The Mash House (18).  The full list of tour dates is available to see below.
