Video Premiere: Feral Five – ‘Neurotrash’

Described by Steve Lamacq as “Enid Blyton’s worst nightmare”, ‘Neurotrash’ – the latest single from ‘electro-punk’ duo, Feral Five – is a ferocious blast of riotous riffs fused with chaotic electronic beats. Feral Five, aka Kat and Drew, released their debut EP last year and received acclaim for previous singles from not only Lamacq, but also Louder Than War and Everett True.

As heard on the Gigslutz Girls’ New Music Show last week, and in ‘Dressed As A Girl’ – a drag queens film that has just premiered at the BFI – ‘Neurotrash’ is a wonderfully frenzied cacophony, inspired by the science wars about the brain. Particularly seeking influence from Baroness Susan Greenfield’s idea that gender psychology and brain differences are a load of “neurotrash”, here is a track that will not only have you dancing round the room in an instant, but will leave you questioning societal norms, ready to take action.
