WATCH: Ho99o9 – ‘United States Of Horror’

If you’re looking for a new type of hymn to sing this Sunday, you need to check out New Jersey hip hop/punk mutants Ho99o9. The band have announced their debut album United States of Horror which is to due to be released on May 5th via their own imprint Toys Have Powers, and they’ve released a video for the title track.

Formed by the OGM (Jean) & Yeti Bones (Eaddy), the band is an amalgamation of punk, rap, militancy, industrial, metal and hardcore; creating what they describe as “Deathkult”. ‘United States of Horror’ was produced by David Andrew Sitek of TV on the Radio now, and the new video (directed by Behn Fannin) is an assault on the retinas.

Ho99o9 are set to perform at SXSW in Austin, Texas this week, and they’ll be heading out on a headline tour of the US and Canada afterwards, which will then lead into a plethora of European Festival appearances. They recently performed to a sold out crowd at The Old Blue Last in Shoreditch, and their frenzied, visceral live performances are quickly becoming infamous anecdotes for fans (Editor’s note: I left with a black eye and blue knee caps. It was the greatest gig ever).

Watch the new video for ‘United States of Horror’ below, and follow Ho99o9 on Facebook for more updates.
