WATCH: Molly Payton shares video for ‘Corduroy’

So far 2020 has seen newcomer Molly Payton release two singles taken from her forthcoming debut EP ‘Mess’ due at the end of April. ‘No One Else’ and more recently lead track ‘1972’, lay the foundations for what this talented 18 year old has to offer. Here, she shares a one take video for a third track from the EP ‘Corduroy’

Shot in the mind-blowingly beautiful surroundings of her home country New Zealand, the video captures Molly at her most relaxed in her natural environment – enveloped in peace and tranquillity – a juxtaposition of what the ‘Mess’ EP is about. The full EP documents the trials of teenage relationships as Molly navigated her transition from New Zealand life to London life when her parents relocated when she was 16.

Across all of her music, Molly pulls from her experiences as a teenager now living in London, and what it was like being a new face on the scene, she channels her emotions into her songs. Musically Molly draws influence from the likes of like Joni Mitchel, Jeff Buckley and Leonard Cohen. She writes of love and life in a very upfront way and the truth and honesty that exists in her songs is palpable.
