SILENT-K are a wonky-funk rock ‘n’ rollercoaster band that makes music “to do ya ma’s head in!”

Led by exotic fruit ‘The Pineapple King’ (aka Chris Taylor) and featuring fellow Scouse juggernaut ‘Vincent Valentine’ (aka Dave McCabe of The Zutons).

Originally formed as a two-piece, the band’s rotating personnel now exceeds fourteen strong. Taylor adopted the revolving line-up approach, creating a squad of players with drummer Fazzle Razzett (aka Adam Goldberg), Dr Fingerlord (aka John Prosser) on Keys and the Time Chef (aka Andrew Ashton) on bass.

Alongside the grand plan – to conquer the North, reform the Celtic alliance and initiate the independent republic of Liverpool, SILENT-K released their debut single earlier this month – a double A-side of ‘Work Work’ / ‘Plastic People’, both produced by local legend and long-time friend Andy.De.Foxxe (The Coral/Shack/Big Kids).

‘Work Work’ is as SILENT-K describe it “a driving krautrock boogie that playfully questions the work ethics and endless demands of a capitalist economy”. The flip side ‘Plastic People’ – “points the finger at humanity’s deadly thirst for plastic and draws comparisons between the material itself and certain (plastic) personality traits.”

SILENT-K’s first live appearance was a sold out show at legendary Liverpool venue Sound. This gig paved the way for a spike of UK support slots with music meteors Noel Gallagher, Warmduscher, Working Mens Club, Reef and Fat White Family (who Taylor was temporarily touring with on guitar). Hitting the road hard, SILENT-K created a refreshing buzz on the live scene, still without any recorded music available.
