The Afghan Whigs performed a live version of ‘Matamoros’ last night on Jools Holland’s ‘Later’ show featuring vocalist Van Hunt. The track, taken from the newly released album Do to the Beast, is one of three tracks recorded for Friday night’s show that airs at 11.05 pm on BBC2.

Fans can also look forward to seeing the band play on Wednesday, June 4th in the US onThe Late Show With David Letterman.
 
‘Do to the Beast’ is The Afghan Whigs first-ever U.S. & U.K. Top 40 album debut: In the U.S. the album entered the Billboard Top 200 album chart at #32, with over 10.5k scanned. Meanwhile in the U.K., Do to the Beast entered at #40 on the albums chart.
 
The album is available now on Sub Pop Records digitally via iTunes and on CD and vinyl via UK record stores.
