Catfish & The Bottlemen Release New Single ‘Longshot’

From playing in the car park at a Kasabian gig begging people to take their homemade CD, to this. This Llandudno band were always on the path to success, and here they are – on their seemingly endless escalator to success.

GO! Van McCann opens ‘Longshot’ with his intoxicating vocals, with muted guitar picking. The definition of ‘calm before the storm’. Drummer Bob Hall then joins the party, setting the beat for the track before the entire band join forces. Filled with Johnny Bond’s solo and Benji Blakeways’ bass, the guitar transcends the track in the bridge and solo. The matching melodies of the drum beats and guitar riffs gives an alluring tingle to the track as a whole. Despite Van McCann swearing by “sticking inside the box” to their youthful alternative rock, the number oozes with musicality and their instantly recognisable sound.

It cannot remain unnoticed that the lyrics have their own McCann twist cast upon them; diary-entry vibe writing that relates to every single person which will be standing in those masses of crowds the band will inevitably play this year. The addictive hook of the chorus is sure to keep us satisfied until their next single… Until then, this is one track you’re going to want to know for Festival Season 2019.

Listen to their latest track on all mainstream platforms and watch the music video below from today, Tuesday 8th January… you NEED to.
