Kendal Calling announces 2019 line-up

The Lake District’s own Kendal Calling has announced its four-day line-up, in what is a stellar weekend of music for all tastes.

The Courteeners will grace the main stage, and will be joined in the headline slot by the newly re-formed Doves and funk legends Nile Rodgers & Chic.

Indie legends Manic Street Preachers return to Kendal, fresh off their 20th anniversary tour for number one album This Is My Truth, Tell Me Yours. The inclusion of fellow Welsh-man Sir Tom Jones will be a sure-fire success, with his vast array of hits over his 50-plus year career. Also playing will be Orbital and Years & Years.

Leading the announcement for the smaller stages are Brit Awards nominees IDLES, Scottish singer-songwriter Gerry Cinnamon and indie-rock groups Dream Wife and The Big Moon. Also playing will be festival veterans The Fratellis and Miles Kane, each bringing their many hits to the weekend.

It’s not just bands playing over the weekend, but also a wide range of DJ’s, a dawn-till-dusk cinema and the Tim Peak’s Diner. All of which bring a uniqueness to the festival and provide a differing dynamic than most.
