Liverpool Sound City reveal 10th anniversary headliners

Liverpool Sound City has announced that The Human League, John Cale, Metronomy and The Kooks will be headlining this year’s 10th anniversary.

The festival has already revealed the larger location for this year’s celebration at Clarence Docks. However, more news has come with the addition of another night, making it a four-day event this year for the first time.

It will launch on May 25 with The Human League, Art of Noise and A Certain Ratio all taking to the stage. Completing the Thursday line-up will be Dudley/Jeczalik/Lanagan’s reboot of Art of Noise’s In Visible Silence and also Manc’s punk-funk experimentalists ACR.

John Cale’s only-European performance of The Velvet Underground & Nico has been brought into Sound City. The 50th anniversary celebration of the album was previously announced as a stand along show, but with it now being a part of Sound City, more tickets have been released.

Topping the Saturday bill will be Metronomy, who will be joined by The Kills, Slaves, Peaches, The Hunna, Carl Barat & The Jackals, Pumarose, Fickle Friends and many more.

The final night will be headlined by The Kooks, who previously closed the festival back in 2014. Supporting are White Lies, Local Natives, !!! (Chk Chk Chk), Milburn, She Drew The Gun, Cabbage, The Sherlocks and The Vyrll Society.

Tickets for Sound City 2017 go on sale next Friday (January 27) at 9am.
