The James Taylor Quartet’s The Money Spyder was released on Acid Jazz in 1993, after appearing on the label’s precursor, Re-Elect The President, in 1987.

Presented as a classic soundtrack, the album perfectly encapsulates the sound of acid jazz on one record – heavy, organ-driven instrumentals from Hammond maestro James Taylor and his quartet.

The group’s sublime mixture of Booker T-styled grooves and soundtrack elements recalling the likes of Lalo Schifrin and film noir jazz.

Available on clear vinyl, this reissue is part of Acid Jazz’s 35th Anniversary series, highlighting core releases from the label.
