PREMIERE: Brunt Poetry – ‘Dirty South’

Brunt Poetry are a formidable group of musicians who are based in Brighton and fronted by rapper Marcus Mandible. Formed in 2014, the band’s line-up now consists of John-Paul Townsend on drums, Ed Lamb on bass, Charlie Welfare on guitar, and Marcus leading the way on vocals.

Their sound has been compared to the likes of Rage Against The Machine, Mike Skinner, and Ocean Wisdom (Karen McDermott, Brighton Source), and it’s easy to see why. Their latest track ‘Dirty South’ is full of “industrial sludge” in the rhythm section, and plenty of abrasive metal guitar which underscores Mandible’s furious lyrics.

The Brighton group took a brief hiatus earlier this year to work on new material, but now they’re back with a belting new single and furious attitude. Listen to ‘Dirty South’ below, and follow Brunt Poetry on Facebook for more updates.
