Unsigned Act Of The Week – Three Days Dark

Hailing from the wild woods of Epping Forest is one man band Trent Halliday’s latest project Three Days Dark. Having previously fronted DeepSeaGreen, and recorded three albums with them, Halliday is no stranger to delivering eclectically creative pieces of music.

‘Three Days Dark’, the self-titled album, is filled with pummelling beats and impressive classic-rock riffs, all delivered with an unrelenting driving force. Presenting us with a heterogeneous range of influences, Halliday takes us on a titillating journey through the ages; blasting out his neo-psych rock with a retro twist. Whilst opening track, ‘Hey’, is distinctly reminiscent of Kings of Leon in their hey-day, Halliday also treats us to an array of ‘70s inspired Pink Floyd-esque sounds (‘One Stitch At A Time’) and bluesy undertones (‘The Breaks’), whilst demonstrating his finger-lickingly fantastic guitar skills throughout.

So, if you fancy being transported to the psychedelic daze of the ‘70s, then Trent Halliday is just the man to do it. ‘Three Days Dark’ is a unique creation – a perfect blend of retro and contemporary, all brought to you alongside Halliday’s charmingly husky drawl. Quite a feat for an album recorded in a cluttered living room in Essex.

The full ten track delight, ‘Three Days Dark’, is available now on the bandcamp.
