Liverpool-based Venus Demilo have fast been making waves in their local area, receiving acclaim from BBC Introducing Merseyside and blogs such as ‘It’s All Indie’. Having also supported the likes of Pigeon Detectives and Beach Baby, it seems their sound will soon be a familiar one.
New track ‘Sinking Ships’ is a perfect insight into what Venus Demilo are all about; reminiscent of the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club, it’s an energy-fuelled slice of indie rock filled with infectious riffs and catchy melodies. Of the single, lyricist Tom says: “It’s all about gaging some perspective and not letting the struggles that lie ahead ruin what’s happening right now.”
