WATCH: Gigslutz Spotlight presents… Jammin

With the Grime scene in such good health right now, I wanted to take a closer look at some of the artists doing bits at the moment; Skepta’s huge independent success, years in the making, has kicked down the door – firming up the belief of artists everywhere and proving you don’t always need a major label to get where you want to be.

This time around Grime is back in the forefront of the UK scene and once again gaining U.S attention, plus there are more flows, vibes and perspectives across the UK than ever before. With so many voices to be heard, this became a great chance of doing something fresh, a tilt on the standard freestyle video and a chance for an artist to show off some personality.

Jammin is no stranger to the scene, a regular on Reprezent Radio and Radar in London. If you follow Grime you’ll be familiar with his flow and you will have heard his production by now – he’s an artist you will no doubt be hearing a whole lot more about over the coming months. We shot this video one Friday evening and he arrived with two of his friends just after the beer and pizza came – all high energy and ready to go. A natural performer, Jammin recently shared a stage with Skepta at Glastonbury and has long been putting in the kind of work it takes to make it as a headliner.
