From winning the approval of The Libertines / Baby Shambles front man Peter Doherty and his record label Strap Originals,  Local Authority have teased a new track, The Time Is Now, from their upcoming album Controlled Chaos, link for the single is here.

Sounding like a Glastonbury sing-a-long in the making ,the upcoming album by the garage rock three piece from Glasgow also features Big Bad Man (reputedly about Liam Gallagher)  due to be released in December. Rumour has the album is currently being remixed by Rolling Stones former manager producer Andrew Loog Oldham

Singer Garry Larant, bassist Jess Swan, and drummer Stephen Parker follow in the tough lineage of the city’s finest garage rockers from the Poets to the Pastels via The Stones Roses, the Cramps and even Johnnie Kidd & The Pirates.

When listening to the band Doherty was convinced he was listening to the ‘Lee Mavers comeback album’ and was singing, grooving and clapping along when the band supported him in Wrexham recently. He picked out album tracks Crafted Design and All Grown Up for special praise.

The band have a string of forthcoming live dates including a free gig at Harleys, Ayr.
