NEW MUSIC: The Hermitts Weight Of The World debut album

Northern noiseniks The Hermitts release their stunning debut album, Weight of the World, on 20th November 2023.

The limited edition CD and DL only release on Next Phase : Normal records features nine tracks, singles Weight Of The World, previously released on the much sought after sold-out 7” EP released earlier this year, and The Moors are combined alongside entirely new material.

The Hermitts are based in Stoke on Trent, formed during the long summer lockdown of 2020 when all there was to do was hum tunes to yourself and hope you didn’t die. Subsequently their sound is hazy and dreamlike with lyrics that address the baffling ennui of 21st century life. They’re said to sound like Teenage Fanclub on magic mushrooms, as well as a load of obscure shoegaze acts the band hasn’t actually heard of.
