New Track: Fizzy Blood – ‘Sweat and Sulphur’

Leeds-based band Fizzy Blood have been gaining plenty of momentum, with appearances at the likes of Live At Leeds and Download Festival. Now, they have announced the release of their latest single ‘Sweat and Sulphur’, the second single to be released by Come Play With Me’s new singles club.

‘Sweat and Sulphur’s’ beginning is surrounded by an eerie mannerism that sits with you for some time, before exploding into a huge number, purging with absolute chaos. The track offers lyrics such as “wake up, sunlight in my face. I never even closed the blinds last night” and “coughed up pieces of my throat, my head’s a mess, this room’s no better”. As the band themselves summarise, the track was fuelled by “hangover angst” and listening to records that are “loud and unforgiving, but also have a natural echo”; and ‘Sweat and Sulphur’ reflects this perfectly. The track doesn’t rest for one second, with explosive choruses and addictive vocals, surrounded by thunderous drums and energetic riffs.

‘Sweat and Sulphur’ is set for release 19 February via Come Play With Me.
