Premiere: Marina Maximilian – ‘My Boy’ (Making Of)

Ukranian-born Marina Maximilian is certainly no stranger to music-making; having sung in choirs, attended a music conservatory and played in jazz festivals by the time she was fifteen, she is now a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and actress.

On new single ‘My Boy’, Maximilian has worked alongside Ape Records founder Tamir Muskat to create a vintage-inspired sonic delight oozing uptempo beats and powerfully heartfelt vocals. Inspired by the love she felt for her unborn child at the time of writing, Maximilian says of the track:

“I felt the melody should be a bit childish and repetitive. I guess the song is about the adventure that is life, but also the hidden dangers.”
