Track Review: Dolomite Minor – ‘Let Me Go’

Formed in 2010 this unsigned Southampton duo, Dolomite Minor, released their debut EP last year and took to the stage this year at Reading and Leeds festivals. The band is comprised simply of Joe Grimshaw on vocals and guitar and Max Palmier on drums, yet the sound created is much greater than that of just two musicians.

Describing themselves as “fuzz blues”, their biting guitar, blues rhythm and dispassionate vocals succeed in making Blues Rock contemporary. Their track ‘Let Me Go’, with its sledgehammer riffs and booming beat, delivers a raw, dirty and gnarly sound that – with a bit more edgy vigour – could soon see the emergence of an English Black Keys.
