The Avalanches reveal work has begun on LP3

It is official; The Avalanches are back in the studio, working on their third LP.

It took the Australian songsters sixteen years to follow-up their debut album, Since I Left, with the release of Wildflower, however, The Avalanches seem to be speeding up their recording process this time around (hurrah).

In an interview with Sydney radio station, Avalanches’ Robbie Chater said about writing “It’s flowing so quickly.  I think getting Wildflower out of the way and following up Since I Left You feels like a weight’s been lifted.  The music is really light; it’s some of the best stuff we’ve done.”

Charter continued to say that the new music is coming “definitely soon”.

We wait with bated breath and pray it won’t be another sixteen years before the sound of new Avalanches infests our ears.
