THIS FEELING ALIVE INTERVIEW: LIBERTY SHIP

Born off the back off This Feeling club nights and festival stages, This Feeling – Alive tour, sees headliners Bang Bang Romeo, The Shimmer Band and Blackwaters head out around the UK, supported by more of the best new bands around, to celebrate indie music in 2017 and the power of new bands.

Ahead of the tour, we’re catching up with all the bands involved to find out what makes them tick. Liberty Ship let us know a bit more about them before they play Sheffield with the headliners…

Describe the band in 3 words

Rock and Soul

And what can people expect from your live shows?

Just us having a reyt good time so it’ll make you wanna join the party and get on it.

Funniest gig/tour experience?

When we played Leeds Festival for TF in 2016 and the suction from the mud was so strong it ripped the soles off Jimmy’s wellies so he had to walk around site looking like he had hooves. Think he got trench foot.

Who would be on your ideal festival lineup (to play alongside)?

Liam Gallagher, Fleetwood Mac, Damien Marley

What song do you wish you’d written?

‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

Who should we be listening to at the moment?

We really like Mint, The Assist, Frontiers, The Jacks, The Strawberries and The Wholls

Why are promoters/nights like This Feeling so important?

Because they provide upcoming bands the opportunity to play on a sadly diminished live circuit and they provide exposure in the press and on radio that is otherwise extremely hard to come by for unsigned artists. They’re helping shape the future of live music.

Liberty Ship play The Plug, Sheffield w/ Bang Bang Romeo, The Shimmer Band
and Blackwaters on 13 October. For tickets and info on other dates visit
