GET TO KNOW: Fuzay ‘Winnaz Therapy’

Meet Fuzay, an English rapper of Ghanaian and Portuguese heritage, raised in South London. Fuzay began his musical journey from an early age, when he showed an aptitude for music by learning to play the drums. He soon discovered his talent for rapping, with his early years spent mastering his craft over Grime beats and found himself in regular studio sessions with artists such as Wiley, Roll Deep, Yungen, Fazer (N Dubz) and Sneakbo.

Fuzay would often bypass the hype surrounding his name to concentrate on his university studies and passion for music but it was through those studio sessions that his single Too Much Swagger was created with Sneakbo in 2013. The track was immediately snapped up by tastemaker DJ Target who made it his “Targo Embargo” on his BBC Radio 1Xtra show.

Since then Fuzay has been signed to Alwayz Recording, the label responsible and largely involved in the success of some of the biggest UK acts including Chip & Wretch 32 and has now returned with a brand new mixtape, Winnaz Therapy. With heavyweights such as Wiz Khalifa, Chip, Paigey Cakey, Loick Essien and Sneakbo appearing on the tracklisting, it seems that Fuzay has really established himself as an artist that his fellow artists really want to champion.

In terms of the mixtape, the swagger-filled collaboration with Paigey Cakey and Chip on ‘TMS Pt. 2’ is an updated version of Fuzay’s 2013 breakout track and is also a standout track on the mixtape. Other highlights include the hard-hitting trap banger ‘Like Me’, which features US rapper Wiz Khalifa and also ‘I Got You’, which features vocalist Loick Essien and is arguably one of the most chart friendly tracks on the release.

If you haven’t yet checked out the raw, street anthems that Fuzay has shared on Winnaz Therapy then fear not; we have the entire mixtape available for your listening pleasure below. Make sure you follow Fuzay on Twitter and Facebook and keep your eyes peeled for our upcoming interview with the man himself, which is dropping soon!
