‘Play It’ to return for a new series on Channel AKA in March 2015

After making its debut back in 2014, Play It returns next month with a new series showcasing live performances, in-depth interviews and celebrating some of the best British talent the country has to offer. The show created and hosted by Rinse FM’s Julie Adenuga instantly gained notoriety for its unique concept for giving both established and emerging acts a platform to shine.

Now partnering up with Channel AKA and Daily Motion, ‘Play It’ episodes will be aired monthly on AKA with each episode going live two weeks later online on DailyMotion via JulieAdenuga.com, which will feature extra footage, additional artists and behind the scenes content.

Speaking on the new series, Channel AKA said, “We’re very pleased to be working on Julie’s brand new series of Play It. She has introduced an exciting new dynamic to AKA, bringing live performances; interviews and new talent back to the channel. With the power of Julie, AKA and Daily Motion behind the project we’re confident we can bring the UK’s hottest talent to the series”.

Daily Motion expressed their support too saying, “We are excited to have Play It as part of our family. Any opportunity to showcase new and quality UK talent is an option we will always endorse. Julie being the driving force fills us with confidence and an exuberant enthusiasm. Working with Channel AKA is an added bonus and adds further pedigree to an already unique concept”.

Previous artists to perform on the show include the likes of Stormzy, Youngs Teflon, Ms Banks and Raheem Bakaré. On creating the show Julie Adenuga explains, “The aim of the show is to give people who love what they do a judgemental free platform to do it. No criteria needs to be met, their artistry doesn’t need to fit a specific mould. Just be passionate & nang! That’s it!”.
