This week we bring you a selection of progressive house tracks that have grabbed our attention. We think these could be stealthy chart climbers…
MORTEN – PERFECT DIVE (Ultra Music)
We’ll plunge straight in with this progressive beauty from Morten, ‘Perfect Dive’. The Danish DJ and producer has been popping up on a range of impressive labels over the last 12 months or so, but he’s back with a progressive house track with Ultra Music which is likely to elevate him into greater prominence.
A combination of tremolo and refreshingly melodic string parts, marry perfectly with the arpeggiated rhythms and piano stabs, all culminating in a stripped back techy drop. Although it doesn’t quite hit the realms of grit and aggression as you might first expect or wish for, it does its own thing with surprising satisfaction. Already hitting the top 10 progressive house charts on Beatport, this is a grower.

LIMERANT – LUMINA (Hijacker Records)
Limerant, a 22 year old Swedish producer from the small town of “Borås” kicks off 2014 with “Lumina”, his debut release through our very own Hijacker Records. A brand new and mysterious artist, there’s little information about this bedroom prodigy, but such is the quality of his production, Limerant has already released through labels such as Glovel Records, XRTXX, Hijacker Records and has received National Swedish airplay (P2) before he’s even performed live. Not a bad effort I’m sure you’ll agree.
Of the three tracks we’ve chosen this week, Lumina is a subtle, melodic and sexy house banger, ready for late night revellers and lovers of the deeper arts. It has just been chosen as the flagship track to promote UV Festival 2014 and will no doubt light up a few dance floors before then.

IVAN GOUGH & JEBU – NOXU (Size Records)
Ivan Gough and Jebu have recently teamed up to create what can only be described as a main stage killer in their latest release ‘Noxu’. With a heavy dose of trance sensibilities, this is more of a guilty pleasure than a critique’s choice. But there’s something about this track that makes me overlook my inner and more cynical judgement….it kicks. Hard!
Throw this through a Funktion One sound system and watch the crowd stand to attention. There’s no doubt that this track has a place with it’s huge drops, orch hits and euphoric risers, and I imagine it could be a climber. Let’s see.
