LIVE: Proletariat @ Liverpool Sound City, 28.05.17

A band that is endorsed so early on in their careers by our friends, This Feeling, is a force to be reckoned with: period.   A band that also has Pirate Studios backing them, a slot at Liverpool Sound City’s 10th birthday celebration and has the frontman of a certain main-stage act introducing them means that the group in question must be pretty special…  Would you say the same, Proletariat?

“This band is not only aptly named, but the best named band I’ve ever fucking heard” roars the presenter before Proletariat make their Sound City debut.  With their first EP launch taking place only earlier this month, the boys from Mossley, Greater Manchester are fresh-faced and ready to convert their watchers into followers.

Highlights of the short but deafeningly sweet set included ‘Mr. Brown’ and the gut-grabbing ‘Always The Same’.  The former track allows Cummins’ elongated vocals to be showcased in full-strength – rich with swagger, defined with unparalleled confidence while being undeniably eye-catching. This band really means business.

The set comes to a racing end while Proletariat leaves the crowd hanging on every last dripping note.  The boys promise us more and more is exactly what we are after.  Watch this space, the Proletariat parade is well underway.
