The National unveil new record ‘Sleep Well Beast’ and world tour

The dawning of the rebirth is upon us – The National has announced that their new album will be out later this year and they will also be hitting the road on a world tour, to support the release.

The National’s seventh studio record, Sleep Well Beast, is due to be released on September 8, via 4AD.  The LP was recorded at Aaron Dessner’s New York studio and has been mixed by Peter Katis.  Dessner is also credited as the main producer of the group’s forthcoming release while Bryce Dessner and Matt Berninger from the band are also highlighted as co-producers.

Sleep Well Beast features twelve tracks including: ‘Born to Beg’, ‘Dark Side of the Gym’ and ‘The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness’.  The latter song has been released as The Nationals’ first offering from their seventh album.  The video for ‘The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness’ directed by Casey Reas, can be watched below.

Alongside the exciting release news, The National has also revealed they will be heading out on a World Tour to support the LP.  The Brooklyn-based band will be kicking off the UK & Ireland leg of the tour on September 16 at Cork Opera House, playing as part of the bill at Bryce Dessner’s self-curated festival, Sounds From A Safe Harbour festival.
