It is official; Nika Rosa Danilova, or Zola Jesus as we know her, has announced the release of her latest album – Okovi.
Featuring eleven tracks Okovi will be available from September 8 via Sacred Bones. The second track on the record ‘Exhumed’ has already been released, previewing the upcoming LP from Zola Jesus. The track is available to stream via Youtube at the bottom of this story.
Speaking about the new studio LP, DIY reported that Zola Jesus said: “This album is a deeply personal snapshot of loss, reconciliation and, a sympathy for the chains that keep us all grounded to the unforgiving laws of nature”.
To help ‘bring Okovi to life’, Zola Jesus enlisted Alex DeGroot “the only constant in my live band and helped mix the Stridulum EP back in 2010”.
