Big Feastival, proudly presented by M&S Food, has revealed further entertainment for 2023, including the Main Stage hosts, Cheese Hub DJs and another round of Music Acts set to appear across the weekend. It returns for its twelfth year at Alex James’ farm in the Cotswolds this summer bank holiday weekend, 25 – 27 August, offering festival goers a weekend of amazing live music, critically acclaimed chefs, award-winning food and an unparalleled programme of family entertainment. Taking to the Main Stage as hosts for 2023 will be TV favourite and World Champion dancer, Oti Mabuse who will be hyping up the audience for a fantastic weekend of entertainment on Friday. Radio and TV favourite Vernon Kay will keep crowds entertained across Saturday whilst television presenter, podcaster and author, Laura Whitmore will introduce the day’s entertainment on Sunday.
Joining previously announced headliners Sigrid, Tom Grennan and Blossoms, Big Feastival is thrilled to welcome Everything Everything, Mae Muller and Newton Faulkner to the line up, alongside a host of exciting emerging artists.
Following their critically acclaimed album, Raw Data Feel last year which peaked at Number 4 on the Official UK Charts, Manchseter art rock band Everything Everything have become one of the UK’s favourite indie acts and will be taking to the Main Stage on Saturday. The 2023 UK Eurovision entry and all round pop sensation, Mae Muller, will grace The Main Stage on Sunday with her heartfelt lyrics and soulful voice. Newton Faulkner also joins the Saturday line up – from the acoustic sorcery of 2007’s UK#1 debut Hand Built By Robots that included Top 10 sing-a-long hit ‘Dream Catch Me’, his acclaimed fifteen-year catalogue delivers rock, pop, folk, soul and beyond.
Alex James’ legendary Cheese Hub will see stellar DJ sets from famous guests and some of the nation’s best DJs. Legendary Syrup club night duo Tall Paul and Seb Fontaine will celebrate dance floor friendships, great music and crazy hair styles. Crowds will be drawn in by the classic beats of Stanton Warriors and multi award winning recording artist, producer and DJ Jeremy Healy, who will bring the sounds that earned him huge success with Fantazia House Collection and Haysi Fantayzee singles and album.
Classic remixes and old school anthems will be brought by KISS FM and all-female collective 24h Garage Girls DJ Shosh, electronic pulses by Lottie and breakbeat and bass comes from Krafty Kuts. DJ collective Filthy Dirty Disco will give crowds an injection of mixed-up, mashed-up music whilst Woody Cook will keep the Cheese Hub dancing. Returning after an iconic and memorable surprise set last year, Hollywood superstar and British icon Simon Pegg will grace the decks once again.
Big Feastival will also host ‘EastEnders’’ star Shaun Williamson with his legendary Barrioke, which will bring his trademark warmth and teasing banter. Gospeloke will offer a karaoke experience like never before with a live gospel choir. Game show, live music and party fusion Famous First Words also join the offerings. Elsewhere in the amazing country inspired The Smokery, Dolly Parton and Shania Twain tribute shows will get the whole family singing and dancing. The Sundown Saloon stage will also welcome Tweed-clad 10-piece brass powerhouse, Old Dirty Brasstards with their exhilarating party jams and unique interpretations of Britpop indie classics to the farm on Saturday.
The family entertainment on offer this year also gets bigger with live theatre performances from some of the nation’s favourite productions. Elmer’s Walk and The Velveteen Rabbit will be sharing lessons of mindfulness, love, and acceptance. Roald Dahl & The Imagination Seekers will grip the entire family with their mischievous theatrics whilst The Fabularium’s Reynard the Fox will entice with their visual and engaging storytelling, puppetry and original live music. Alice’s Adventures In Aerialand also join the line-up with their open-air, aerial circus theatre production adapted from Lewis Carroll’s classic tale.
In a Feastival first, The Exchange brings comedy favourites to the farm for the very first time, featuring live shows from Britain’s Got Talent winner Axel Blake, Youtube hit scientist Matt Parker & Friends, Mock The Week regular Maisie Adam, Yuriko Kotani, and Comedy Club 4 Kids.
Also new for 2023, The Fire Pit Sessions, will see top chefs tame and manipulate smoke and flames to create lip smacking BBQ dishes. Taking part in the Fire Pit Sessions are British chef and founder of The Hidden Hut in Cornwall, Simon Stallard, talented North-London based chef and YouTube presenter Big Has and long term Feastival collaborator DJ BBQ amongst others. They join an incredible line up of chefs already announced to appear in The Big Kitchen across the weekend including Asma Khan, Nathan Outlaw, Anna Haugh, Becky Excell, Big Zuu and Ching He Huang MBE.
