THIS FEELING ALIVE INTERVIEW: MINT

Born off the back off This Feeling club nights and festival stages, This Feeling – Alive tour, sees headliners Bang Bang Romeo, The Shimmer Band and Blackwaters head out around the UK, supported by more of the best new bands around, to celebrate indie music in 2017 and the power of new bands.

Ahead of the tour, we’re catching up with all the bands involved to find out what makes them tick. Today, Mint answer our questions ahead of the Hull date…

Describe the band in 3 words

Great at partying

And what can people expect from your live shows?

Inflatable crocodiles, hair, sweat, crowdsurfing and lots of wine.

Funniest gig/tour experience?

Lenny (guitarist) once made a pot noodle with boiled lager. Like instead of water he used lager. Pretty Rock n Roll!

Who would be on your ideal festival lineup (to play alongside)?

Arctic Monkeys, Prince and The Bee Gees. Now that’s a pre drink an ‘alf.

What song do you wish you’d written?

‘Boogie Wonderland’ – Earth Wind & Fire

Who should we be listening to at the moment?

The Assist, Bad Sounds, White Room AND Last of the Wonderkids

Why are promoters/nights like This Feeling so important?

There’s so much pay to play bollocks about willing to skint bands and not actually help that I reckon about 40% end up packing in because they find it too hard knocking about with shit people. So This Feeling is literally keeping musicians in the game. We’ve deffo found it hard at times. It’s all good saying “yeah we graft hard” but if you say you’ve never found it difficult then I’m sorry but you’re full of shit. This industry is hard. Luckily This Feeling makes it a little easier for us!

Mint play Fruit Space, Hull w/ Bang Bang Romeo, The Shimmer Band
and Blackwaters on 10 October. For tickets and info on other dates visit
