M.I.A reveals new track sampling Blur and Carly Simon – LISTEN NOW

MIA revealed ‘Unbreak My Mixtape’ today, a track set to feature on her fourth studio album ‘Matangi’.

Sampling Blur’s ‘Tender’ alongside ‘Why’ by Carly Simon, the four and a half minute track also features a trip hop beat and the chanting, uneasy vocals of MIA.

If the Soundcloud tags for the song are anything to go by (soul, lovers rock, blues, Britpop, break up songs), ‘Matangi’ is set to be even more varied and experimental than 2007’s ‘Kala’.

‘Matangi’ is set for release on November 4. The singer has taken to Twitter to vent her impatience at label Interscope for holding the album back while she’s ready to let it go, even threatening to leak the album herself earlier this month.
