New Track: The Ties – ‘The Showtime’

The Ties are the latest brit-pop enthused, ironically Roman, band on the music scene. Inspired by the likes of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Oasis and Kasabian, the band strongly suggest their musical influences throughout the entirety of their new track.

‘The Showtime’ opens with Oasis riffs, alongside the Liam Gallagher-reminiscent, elongated vocals of Matt. Reverting to these riffs throughout the song, they are injected into a crescendo heard within the vocals, further charged by the track’s synchronised, powerful drum beats. As we head towards the end of the track, the slowed guitar strumming becomes apparent before concluding in a whirl of distortion and reverb.

The Ties’ description states they “Want to become the meeting point of all the brit-pop of the last 20 years.” And, from hearing this track, I won’t beg to differ that this could well be true.
