Ones To Watch: FEVER

Having only formed last summer, supporting bands such as Childhood and Darlia, FEVER prove themselves to be a strong new band. Their debut single ‘Shell Shock’ perfectly encapsulates everything an upcoming band needs; initially skeptical that they would sound just like every other new band emerging at the moment, I soon found that FEVER somehow bring something entirely original to the table. ‘Shell Shock’ is a seemingly nonchalant portrayal of teenage angst, effortlessly translated into powerful vocals and heavy guitar solos. FEVER aren’t dissimilar to Cage The Elephant; the track begins showing off their melodic pop influences, before drifting perfectly into the louder, grungier choruses. From this track it’s difficult to believe FEVER are such a newly formed band as – while this track is entirely original –  it fits so well with the current scenes in venues like Electric Ballroom that it almost feels as though I’ve seen them before. With this track (and all their others, no doubt) FEVER will definitely make a welcome entrance onto the new music scene and are definitely ones to look/listen out for.

‘Shell Shock’ is out now on iTunes, Spotify and most other digital retailers.
